Uniform Standards & Further Information

  • An official St Kevin's College uniform is to be worn in its entirety:
    • Each College day from the time the student leaves home for College until he returns home.
    • To and from venues of official sporting fixtures by members of the 1sts Representative A.P.S. Teams.
    • When attending College functions and while on tour with College groups.
      
  • Coats may be removed on College property. Coats and ties must be worn by all students in uniform off College property. Coats are not to be worn without a tie. Coats need not be worn when the temperature exceeds 30ºC.
  
  • Badges, rings, earrings, and insignia of outside organisations, etc, are not to be worn with the College uniform.
  
  • Students may be sent away from College, sporting venues and organised training sessions if they present themselves without the correct uniform.
  
  • Extremes of hairstyle are not permitted. This relates to cut, colouring and length.
  
  • Shirts are to be fully buttoned when worn with a tie.  The College tie is to be adjusted to cover the top button and is to be arranged in the conventional fashion in which ties are worn.
  
  • All articles of College uniform are to be clearly marked with the owner's full name.  The use of name tags sewn on to clothing is highly recommended.  The College will endeavour to return marked articles, which are found, to their owners; it will disclaim any responsibility for unmarked articles.
  
  • The fact that a student travels by private transport does not exclude him from any of these regulations.

  • The College bag is required.
  
  • The uniform for the Senior School consists of:
Navy blue reefer jacket, "Doctor Flannel", three buttoned front, single button on sleeve, single vent, all buttons gold.
Long trousers – grey pinhead with pleats and cuffs, worn with a plain, black belt.
White shirt.
Socks - black
Shoes - plain black, lace-up.
College tie.
School pullover.
Umbrellas may be used.  The water-proof sports jacket is not to be worn with the Collegel uniform.
In classes such as Chemistry, Art or Technology students will be instructed to wear suitable clothing over their College uniform.
Year 11 and 12 students only may wear the St Kevin's striped blazer, in place of the navy reefer.  (The Deputy Headmaster may give permission for some Year 10 students in special circumstances.
In summer months students may wear approved grey shorts and light grey walk socks.   
  • The uniform for Preparatory to Year 6 consists of:
The summer uniform is worn in Term 1 and Term 4 and the winter uniform is worn in Terms 2 and 3.  The uniform must be worn in its entirety, correctly, to and from the College.

Summer Uniform
Shirt: Grey polyester with school crest on pocket.
Shorts: Grey polyester embroidered with SKC.
Socks: Regulation summer school socks. (Grey with green and gold stripe).
Hats: All students wear the College navy blue broad-brimmed hat with the embroidered College crest. Primary  students MUST wear hats in the playground during recess and lunch until the end of Term 1 and from October  in Term 4.

Winter Uniform
Winter Suit: Regulation school suit, navy twill, single breasted, single centre vent, three-button front. Short trousers.
Jumper: College Regulation.
Shirt: Mid blue, cotton or synthetic. (No tab or button-down style allowed).
Tie: Official College Tie.
Socks: Regulation winter school socks. (Navy blue with green and gold stripe).
Raincoat: The approved raincoat is navy blue nylon. An umbrella may be used. Variegated duffel coats, car coats, snow coats etc are NOT to be worn with the College uniform.
The spray jacket/sports top is worn only with the sports uniform.

Art Smocks: Must be purchased through the Swap Shop.

Swap Shop

A second hand clothing stall is run by the Mothers' Associations.  The Swap shop is run several times throughout the year.
